About Uzes

Uzes is an exceptional, beautiful town situated on the edge of the Cevennnes hills, close to the Pont du Gard, Avignon, Nimes and Montpellier.

Its medieval towers dominate the lush green valley of the river Alzon which takes its source from the Eure, venerated since ancient Roman times and whose waters ran in the aqueduct from Uzes to Nimes passing over the Pont du Gard.

The town is surrounded by a country side not unlike Tuscany -  vines, cereal crops, olives, almonds, figs, apricots and cherry trees  cultivated in the ancestral manner.  The locally produced goat cheese, honey, vine and provencal vegetables are all of an excellent quality. With the Luberon and Camargue close  by, the beauty of its architectural heritage and its exceptional brightness offer a remarkable quality of life.

Uzes is a wonderful holiday location with a huge variety of outdoor pursuits, renowned markets, restaurants, cafes, shops and many individual boutiques.
